First you must read the whole Bible, then you should come to this "Messiah" section, because unless you know the history of the people of Israel, the word "Messiah" will make little sense to you. Just know, while you read the whole Bible, that Jesus is God, and that Him we should obey. Read the New Testament, hear His Word, and obey it. This section (The Messiah) is going to be much more profitable to you, if you read the whole text of the Bible. Then you will realize how amazing the Bible really is, how infinite is the difference, between the Bible and all other religious texts, as the Words and Power of God, are different from the words and thoughts of man. Then, you will not only read the Words of Jesus in the New Testament, believing they are the Words of God, but knowing they are.
The Jewish Scriptures, or TANAKH, are what Christians know as the "Old Testament". These are filled with prophecies about a coming King, a Ruler of Israel, an "anointed one" (Messiah, or Christ), who would lead God's people and establish His righteous Kingdom, FOREVER. Christians believe all of these prophecies are fulfilled by Jesus of Nazareth, while many Jews who don't understand their own scriptures do not believe, but are trying to "make it happen" and establish a "one world government," led by a false messiah, a human.
The First thing to understand is that THE ONLY RIGHTFUL RULER OF ISRAEL IS GOD HIMSELF. Since the Beginning, God intended to be the absolute ruler of HIS people. God did not receive with pleasure the Israelites request for a King, AND EQUATED THIS REQUEST WITH REJECTING GOD ALTOGETHER (1st Samuel 8:6-7). So, it is BEYOND debate that the ONLY GOOD KING, the only righteous King of Israel is GOD HIMSELF. (YAHWEH). (In the rest of the 8th chapter of 1st Samuel you can see what would the Human king do to the Israelites).
The Second thing to understand is that this prophesied King of Israel, whose Kingdom would be ETERNAL (Isaiah 9:6 ,7), and would be a WORLDWIDE Kingdom can not be anyone, BUT GOD ALONE. Because God alone is Eternal, God alone is from Everlasting, and because God ALONE is the King of Israel.
The Third and Last thing to understand, is that JESUS fulfills all these Messianic prophecies, that could ONLY BE FULFILLED BY GOD. Therefore, Jesus is, and has rightfully been called, the last 2000 years, GOD. He, Alone, is the only JEWISH CHILD who has been called GOD, consistently, by billions, fulfilling, ALONE, the prophecy in Isaiah 9:6 ,7.
Now, let's examine the most evident prophecies that point to YAHSHUA,(Jesus) as the Jewish Messiah, and King of Israel and the Whole World. (Because YAHWEH is not only the God of Israel, He is God over the whole universe).
THE AMAZING MESSIANIC PROPHESIES FULFILLED BY JESUS:
-
THE MESSIAH HAD TO COME IN A SPECIFIC TIME, AND BEFORE THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE AT JERUSALEM. (Daniel 9:24-27 ):
Daniel wrote this while he was exiled in Babylon, after the Babylonians had destroyed the temple of God in Jerusalem, built by Solomon. He prophesies that from the decree to restore and rebuild the temple, 69 weeks (62 + 7) would pass until MESSIAH THE PRINCE. The weeks are units of seven years (Ezekiel 4:6 )." So let's do the math. According to historians, Artaxerxes, King of Persia, issued that decree (Ezra 7:12 ,13,21) around the year 457 B.C. Then, after 7 weeks (7x7=49 years), the temple was rebuilt. If we add up 62 weeks (62x7=434 years) after the reconstruction of the temple, that leads us to around 27 A.D. What happened around that year? Jesus was anointed, when He was 30, by God, with the Holy Spirit, and He started his messianic ministry. (So, under this interpretation, the year 27 A.D. would actually be 30 A.D. The 30th year of Christ. Now, it says: He (Messiah) shall confirm a covenant with many for one week, but in the midst of the week (What is the middle of 7? 7/2=3.5) He (Messiah) shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease... (How did Jesus cause the sacrificial system to cease? By becoming the sacrifice himself!. When did Jesus become the sacrifice? 3.5 years after starting his ministry! So, this here would be a case of prophecy fulfilled precisely; to the letter). It says: After the sixty two weeks, Messiah will be cut off, (Jesus was cut off) but not for himself (For you, and for me, as a sacrifice for our sins); and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary, (Roman general Titus, who later became Roman emperor, fulfilled this prophecy in 70 A.D., commanding the legions V Macedonicaca, XII Fulminata, XV Apollinaris, X Fretensis.s.s.s. The story of the siege and destruction of Jerusalem and its temple are not recorded in the Bible, but in Roman documents, and it is interesting to note that Titus, as well as Vespasian, his father, and the Roman Emperor at the Time, had commanded the legions not to destroy the temple, but they did it anyway, because it was already appointed that way by God). Now, our knowledge of times and dates in which old events happened, is limited, so there are also alternative interpretations of this amazing prophecy. But the variations are minimal, and the fulfillment of the "69 sevens" (Threescore and two weeks, and 7 weeks) falls right in the times of Jesus. So, regardless of which interpretation is the most accurate, none other but Jesus could be the Jewish Messiah that these verses talk about, who came before the temple was destroyed.

HE HAD TO BE FROM THE TRIBE OF JUDAH (GENESIS 49:10 ):
It says: Judah will rule over his brothers (The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a ruler from among his feet), until Shiloh Comes. And indeed, Judah ruled in Israel, and was the predominant tribe. Notorious members of Judah's clan were King David and King Solomon. Even when Babylon conquered Israel, and took them as slaves, the tribe of Judah kept its position of leadership among Israelites. But what happened when Jesus came? The Jews wanted to kill him, and the main rulers and priests wanted him dead. But why could they not do the job themselves? The scepter had, indeed, departed from Judah (For Shiloh; Messiah was come), and so they had to get the Romans to do it!. Moses, reportedly, wrote the Genesis. How many years before Jesus? About 1500. 1500 years before it happened, the Prophet Moses knew about Jesus!. This is unparalleled in all of world's literature, and in all books about religion. Only God knows the ends of the beginnings. Then, Genesis goes on to say: "And to him shall be the obedience of the Peoples." How amazing. The most influential person, the most influential Jew, and the most influential Israelite, in ALL of history is, beyond debate, and by far, Jesus of Nazareth. "To him shall be the obedience of the People". To someone, executed like a criminal, a member of one of the smallest, least significant nations on earth. How amazing it is, that about 3500 years ago, someone could see that, and write it down!. Today, we count our years since the birth of this Jew, Jesus of Nazareth.

HE HAD TO BE BORN IN BETHLEHEM EPHRATA, AND HE COULD ONLY BE GOD (MICAH 5:2 ):
It says: "Whose goings forth are from of old, from EVERLASTING". Now, who is the ONLY ONE FROM EVERLASTING? God, alone. And who is the only one who is the rightful ruler of Israel? God, and not man. But wait. How could God come from Bethlehem?. By becoming Jesus, who was born in Bethlehem Ephrata. How amazing! And if you consider that when Israel requested a human king, God considered it as a rejection of Himself as king (1st Samuel 8:6-7), all the more it makes perfect sense, that God alone could be the Messiah, and the King of Israel, and the deity of Jesus makes more sense now, for it is prophesied all over the Jewish scriptures. If you are waiting for a man to be your king, you may include yourself among those of whom 1st Samuel 8:6-7 talks about.

HE WOULD BE CALLED GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE, AND BE JEWISH. (ISAIAH 9:6 ):
Unto "us." Unto WHO? Unto the Jews!. Unto us a child is born, and his name will be called Mighty God? (Elohim, which is also used with other rulers). His name will be called "EVERLASTING FATHER". The only Everlasting Father is God alone!! How could a CHILD, be called GOD!!?? But, believe it or not, this is in your Jewish scriptures (If you are Jewish and think this is abomination, that a man could be called God). So, A Jewish child, would be called God. Sounds like Jesus. The ONLY human being, in ALL of history, who has been called God, consistently through the centuries, by BILLIONS, is Jesus of Nazareth. The only JEW who has fulfilled this prophecy, for He has been called God in such a overwhelming way, is Jesus of Nazareth. And the verse that follows saying that He would be the everlasting ruler, only makes it have more sense. ONLY GOD is the everlasting ruler of Israel, and of the whole world.
-
HIS KINGDOM WOULD BE ETERNAL. ONLY GOD IS ETERNALLY KING. (ISAIAH 9:7 ):
"Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end." The only one whose Government has no end (is eternal), is GOD. And God would be a child? (Verse 6). If Jesus is that child, and God, then this prophecy makes perfect sense. And when put together with the former prophecies, it also makes perfect sense. Otherwise, there is no messiah at all, because the temple has already been destroyed. (Daniel 9:24-27 ).

WITHOUT THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD, THERE IS NO REMISSION OF SINS. (LEVITICUS 17:11 , HEBREWS 9:22 )
Yes. And eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. Justice requires equal payment, for the sin committed. The ONLY WAY given by God to pay for sins is with Blood. Some say that repentance alone is enough. And that is true for Christians. If you repent, and ask forgiveness, in the name of Jesus, forgiveness is granted, because Jesus paid for your sins. But if you don't believe in Jesus, you still have to pay!. For example: If you kill a man, and say to the judge that you are sorry and that you will not do it again, maybe He will look at you with compassion, if you are really sorry. But JUSTICE demands punishment. If the Judge just let you go free, he would be a corrupt judge, that allows people to murder, without punishment. Justice demands payment. Some quote the instance in which David was forgiven of his sin with Bathsheba, just by repenting. No. The sin of David was punished and paid for with blood. His first son with Bathsheba died afterward, and then Absalom, and then all those that died because of internal family strife (within David's family) were cursed because of David's sin. So, if you don't accept the free payment that God makes for your sins, through Jesus, you are still in your sins, and without atonement, and therefore, will have to pay from your own pocket, in the day of judgment. Repent now, and believe in the Lord Jesus!. Daniel 9:24 indicates that the time to "Finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity", has already come to pass, and it is NOW, if you repent, and Believe in the Lord Jesus. Some Jews say that blood is not necessary for remission of sins. Why, then, are they trying to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem, to re-establish their animal sacrifices? Why, then, are they crying on the wailing wall?. Because they are without atonement, and they know it. They move principalities and powers, wars and conspiracies, to rebuild the temple. And if they achieve it, and start sacrifices again, that would be the most gruesome denial of the Mercy of God, granted to those who would just take it!. That would amount to the instance in which they asked for a human king, rejecting God. Face it: Either Jesus is the Atoning Sacrifice, the Passover Lamb, provided by God, or the Jewish People have been without atonement for 2000 years.

THE KING OF ISRAEL WOULD ENTER JERUSALEM RIDING UPON A DONKEY, AND HAVING SALVATION. (ZECHARIAH 9:9 ):
This prophecy was fulfilled by Jesus, He entered Jerusalem riding upon a Donkey (Matthew 21:1-17 ). And who has salvation, but YAHWEH (God) Alone? In the Tanakh (Old Testament), God speaks, and says that there is salvation in none other but himself.(Hosea 13:4 , Isaiah 43:11 , Isaiah 45:21 ) But the same God, YHWH or Jehovah, claims also to be the King of Israel (Isaiah 44:6 ). So, Yahweh and Yahshua are one and the same. Jesus is The Saviour, but there is not salvation in anyone but in God alone. So Jesus is God. Yahweh will not give his glory (honor) to any other, (Isaiah 42:8 ) but Jesus says that he who does not honor the Son (Jesus), does not honor the Father (Yahweh) (John 5:23 ).

THE GLORY OF THE (HUMBLE) SECOND TEMPLE OF JERUSALEM WOULD BE GREATER THAN THAT OF THE FIRST TEMPLE (THE GLORIOUS TEMPLE OF SOLOMON), BECAUSE THE "DESIRE OF ALL NATIONS" WOULD COME. (HAGGAI 2:1-9 ):
Who is the desire of all nations, but God? Who came to the second temple, whose visit made it greater than the first one? It was JESUS who visited the second temple, and then it was destroyed. JESUS is the desire of the nations, and is GOD. The Tanakh also prophesies that God would come to his temple (Malachi 3:1 ), preceded by a messenger (Who John the Baptist ended up being). Malachi is talking evidently about the SECOND TEMPLE, since this was the temple standing when He wrote this. So, a visit of God would certainly qualify, to make the glory of the second temple greater than that of the first one (Solomon's temple). For those unfamiliar with world history, King Solomon, the son of King David, built the first temple in the zenith of Israel's power, in the peak of the earthly kingdom of Israel's glory. It was built in times of Peace, with immense riches available, and was filled with Gold and precious materials. Then, after a while, the sins of Israel reached heaven, and God allowed the Kingdom of Babylon (king Nebuchadnezzar II) to come and destroy Jerusalem, and Solomon's temple, and take the Jews as slaves, out of their land. Then Babylon was conquered by the Persians, and King Artaxerxes allowed the Jews to come back to Israel, and rebuild their temple and city. The second temple was built while the neighbors were attacking them, without many resources, in times of trouble. The material glory of the second temple was NOTHING, in comparison with that of the First one. Yet God said that the glory of this second temple (now destroyed) would be greater than the former one, and that He (God) would visit the temple. The second temple was destroyed by the Romans (Titus) in 70 A.D., after a Jewish revolt. So God can not visit that temple today, since it is no more. But He does not need to, the prophecy was already fulfilled when Jesus visited the temple (And Jesus prophesied, by the way, that the temple would be utterly destroyed, (Mark 13:2 ) prophecy which was perfectly fulfilled, and agrees with the older prophecy in Daniel 9:24-27 ).

THE MESSIAH, THE ARM OF GOD, WOULD BE DESPISED BY HIS OWN PEOPLE, AFFLICTED, AND BEAR THE SINS OF MANY, BE WOUNDED BECAUSE OF OUR TRANSGRESSIONS. (ISAIAH 52 ,53).
Here, God talks about baring his "Holy Arm" (52:10) in the eyes of ALL nations, so that the salvation of God may be seen by all the ends of the earth. When someone does something with his arm, and is asked "Did you do this?", can he say "no, I didn't, my arm did it..."? This would be funny (and ridiculous). Now, can your arm do something YOU don't do? Your arm does all that you want it to do, because your arm does not have a mind of its own, but is commanded by your mind. In the same way, Jesus did not do anything that God didn't do. God indwelled Jesus and all He said and did, God said and God did. When Jesus healed the sick and gave sight to the blind, GOD healed the sick, and gave sight to the blind. When Jesus said: "Love your enemy", God said "Love your enemy". Jesus and God were one mind, one spirit. God is one, not two nor three. There are not three different minds, but only one mind, one spirit, which manifested itself to mankind in three ways, as a Father, as Jesus, and as the Spirit indwelling the believer. But it is not three different persons, it is one and the same, in different manifestations. Jesus, Yahweh, the Holy Spirit, are one and the same. This amazing prophecy was perfectly fulfilled by Jesus, his visage was marred more than any man (52:14), He was rejected and despised (53:3), He was punished for OUR sins (53:5), was oppressed and afflicted, and opened not his mouth, but as a Lamb (the pascal lamb) went to the slaughter (53:7), his grave was with the rich and he was counted with the transgressors (53:9), although he did no violence nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet, he would prolong his days (resurrect)(53:10). And by his knowledge He would justify many, he took the sin of many and made intercession for us, sinners. (53:12). Here the scripture evidently talks about the Arm of God being a person, someone who would suffer for the sins of many. Jesus perfectly fits that description. How did Isaiah know, hundreds of years in advance, about the Arm of God? How did all the other prophets know? This kind of thing is what gives the Bible indisputable supremacy over ALL other religious and non religious texts. Anybody can write a book about things that can not be proven (how is heaven like, whether you get 40 virgins or not), but making prophecies about real events, on this earth, is a very risky thing, unless God himself shows him the future. The Qarann, the Book of Mormon, the Baghavad Gita, all tell you about how heaven is like. But none dare prophesy events about this earth, which can be proven, like the Bible does.

JESUS WAS KILLED RIGHT IN THE PASSOVER, AFTER BEING EXAMINED BY HEROD AND PILATE, EXACTLY WHEN THE JEWS WERE COMMANDED TO KILL THE PASSOVER LAMB, AFTER EXAMINING IT. THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB, ON THE DOORPOSTS, DELIVERED ISRAEL FROM THE DESTRUCTOR. NO BONE OF THE PASSOVER LAMB WAS TO BE BROKEN.
When Israelites were slaves, in Egypt, and the pharaoh didn't want to let them out, Yahweh sent seven plagues against the Egyptians, but it was only after the 7th plague (the worst of all), that Pharaoh agreed to let them go. The seventh plague was the death of the firstborn son of every household in Egypt, and of every beast. (Read: Exodus 7 , 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13). The destroyer angel of God was to pass through Egypt, and perform this, but He would "pass-over" the houses marked with the blood of a lamb. All Israelite families were to choose a lamb without any defect, sacrifice it, and spread its blood on the door's frames of their houses. When the destroyer saw the blood, He would pass over the house, without touching anybody within it. After the Israelites were delivered from slavery in Egypt, God commanded them to celebrate, forever, the 14th day of the first biblical month (Nisan), the passover of the Lord. Each household was to select a lamb, examine it carefully on the days previous to the passover, and if after the examination it was found to be perfect, without blemish, it was deemed a lamb fit for the sacrifice. The lamb was to be killed on the passover. Guess what day they killed Jesus: Right on the passover. Jesus came to Jerusalem (knowing that there was a warrant for his arrest, and that He was to get killed), was caught illegally, clandestinely, by night, by a bunch of thugs. He was given to king Herod (a king set up by Rome) and to Roman Governor Pontius Pilate, to be examined, and both found him innocent, without fault. Yet, the high priests and the people called for his death, and the rulers consented to it. So Jesus came to amazingly fulfill the type found in the old testament, becoming the passover lamb, whose blood will save those who believe, in the day of judgment. He was examined, found without blemish, and killed, right when the passover lamb was to be killed. Another amazing detail is that none of his bones was broken. Usually the Romans would break the legs of crucified people, so that they died faster. The Jews did not want dead people hanging on their land, on their passover celebration. So when the Romans went to break Jesus' legs, they found him already dead (probably because of the bad beatings He had been subject to). In the Old Testament, one of the commandments regarding the passover lamb, is not to break any of its bones.

THE SCEPTER DEPARTED FROM JUDAH, AROUND 7 A.D, AS IT WAS PROPHESIED IN GENESIS 49:10 , THAT IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, WHEN THE MESSIAH (JESUS) CAME.
According to Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, CAPONIUS, Roman procurator, was sent to Judea after Herod Archelaus was dethroned, and the authority of the Jewish Sanhedrin to execute punishment and enforce Jewish laws was restricted. This was around the year 7, after the birth of Jesus. The Babylonian Talmud records that when this happened, the Jews lamented, saying: "Woe unto us, for the scepter has departed from Judah, and Messiah has not come" (Sanhedrin, Chapter 4, fol. 37, recto). But Messiah, the King of Israel, had indeed come, as Genesis had prophesied, and it is Jesus. Before being conquered by the Romans, the Jews were conquered by the Babylonians, but retained their ability to execute punishments, as also the book of Ezra records, so the scepter had not departed, until Caponius. How amazing! After Caponius, the scepter was no longer Judah's, but Shiloh's. (Messiah's). And this was predicted in the very first book of the Bible, hundreds of years before Jesus!. Today, where is the king of the tribe of Judah? Where was he, the last 2000 years? The scepter, indeed departed from Judah, and belongs to Jesus, now. It is impossible to practice true Judaism, based on the Torah today, without believing in Jesus.
