ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN? If so, have you read the entire Bible already? If not, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Do you think your pastor should babysit you all your life? The first commandment is this: “Hear O Israel: The LORD our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy might.” (Deuteronomy 6:5 ) How could you love God without trying to find out what are his ways? Like this one, there are many more commandments, that are for your own benefit, not for the benefit of God. How could you, human, benefit God, who is the maker of everything? You should learn firsthand the Word of God instead of getting it from somebody else. Think about it. What if they lie to you? The Germans were misled in a religious war thinking it was a war for Christ, against the Jews, and Europe was taken into crusades against the moors, and inquisitions against Christians, YET, Jesus Christ says: “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away... Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:38-48 ) Do not be misled by anyone, but read the entire text of the Bible yourself. Don't trust fully in any man to guide you but do your homework instead. There are many churches, and they each say different things. How do you know what things are right or wrong about them? Read the Bible by yourself. There are many who attack the Bible and say it is full of errors and contradictions, and many who say it was written so long ago that it doesn't apply any longer to our society. How could you know if all this is true, or if it is really the Word of God? What would a scientist do to solve this question? Would it not be to see the evidence and evaluate it by himself instead of believing second hand accounts? Yes, specially if you are a Christian, you can not neglect the knowledge of the entire Bible. Start tonight, get rid of your unfruitful television set or video games, and start from Genesis, all the way through to Revelation. "In the Beginning, God Created the heaven and the earth" (Genesis 1:1 ). Find out the amazing salvation performed by God through Jesus Christ, who died to pay with his blood for the sins (transgressions of the law of God) of mankind, as it was prophesied abundantly all over the Old Testament (The Jewish scriptures). Repent and Believe in Jesus Christ, the Passover Lamb who takes away the sins of the world, and you shall be saved from the wrath of God to come, as Israel was saved from slavery in Egypt. Obey Jesus Christ, who gave a new commandment: "Thou shalt love thy fellow human as thyself." (Matthew 22:39 ). Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27 ) |
